In footwear, Adidas is one such organization at the forefront of this evolution. Rapid advances in research and development have moved forward the technology, and as additive manufacturing methods become cheaper and faster, 3D-printed parts are becoming more ingrained in retail and consumer goods. Until recent years, the concept of additive manufacturing has largely been associated with prototyping and low-volume production. Īlso, sign up to our free 3D printing newsletter and follow our active social media accounts. You can vote for Carbon in our 1st Annual 3D Printing Industry Awards. We’ll bring you more details as we have them. ”Ī series of promotional images have made available, however the exact details of manufacture, unsurprisingly remain a closely guarded secret. Adidas say that a longer term goal of the project is, “ to provide each athlete with bespoke performance products tailored to their individual physiological data and needs on demand. Together with geometric complexity, which the lattice structure of the midsoles also exhibit, mass customization is a frequently cited advantage of additive manufacturing. The 4D nature of the shoe is also explained by adidas who say, “ the 4 th dimension is the athlete who completes and exists within the product. The upper part of the shoe is made using Primeknit and finished with Continental outsoles. This is a stiff elastomer that can be printed in a lattice structure to create a high-performance midsole that also offers excellent durability and is aesthetically pleasing. It is a unique resin proprietary to adidas, co-developed with Carbon. The Futurecraft 4D midsole is 3D printed using a,īlend of UV curable resin and polyurethane. The 3D printed shoe can be further refined according to specific functions or sports says adidas. The desired properties in this case are used to fabricate a midsole that takes into account the movement, cushioning, stability, and comfort needs of the wearer. On the actual making of the shoes Carbon’s 3D printing technology, CLIP, will support a technique referred to as Digital Light Synthesis (DLS).Īdidas explain that, “ Carbon’s Digital Light Synthesis technology uses light and oxygen permeable optics to craft a 3D object, and then a thermal baking step to achieve the desired properties. Image via adidas.Īdidas says that production of 3D printed shoes at a volume comparable to traditional manufacturing processes is achieved with,Ĭarbon’s technology coupled with its SpeedCell ™ system, which includes its breakthrough M1 printer, M2 printer, and Smart Part Washer, enables previously impossible designs while also minimizing the tooling and prototyping stages of the design process to go directly to production.įittingly, as one of the more prominent investors in Carbon is Google Ventures, the production process is compared to the “agile” nature of software rather than traditional manufacturing techniques. ” Current production time for a single midsole is 90 minutes, however Carbon and adidas are developing new machinery that will reduce this time to only 20 minutes. The approach taken by Carbon means, “ shortening the time of product introduction cycles by as much as 9-times. ” An initial batch of 300 pairs of Futurecraft 4D shoes will be available this month, then a further 5,000 later this year. Image via adidas,Ī spokesperson told us that the, “ current target is 100k by 2018 and ultimately true mass production as things scale up, aka 10s of millions. Adidas and Carbon taking further steps to mass customization with 3D printing. The shoes will be called Futurecraft 4D, but it is the longer term ambitions of the partnership that make for more interesting reading. Now, the global sports brand has confirmed its plans and announced that in partnership with 3D printing company Carbon these latest shoes are destined for a much larger group than earlier releases. At 3D Printing Industry we began hearing rumors of a new 3D printed shoe from adidas earlier this week.

They are also masters of illusion and can use their natural talents to create illusions that fool others into seeing things that aren’t there, such as forest spirits and mythological creatures. One of their special abilities is that they can blend into their surroundings, making them hard to see. This language is usually written down using a script called Tengwar. Elvish (or rather, Quenya/Sindarin) refers to a language that is spoken. Sidenote, you arent really writing in Elvish. The only similarity is that they are small and have pointed ears. If the vowel is over the following consonant, then IIRC the first of the double vowels is lifted, and the second goes over the consonant as normal. Many people think that wood elves are a type of fairy, but they are not. Wood elves are very intelligent, and many of them are great archers. This method of writing basically involves replacing each english letter with a corresponding elvish letter. Want to know more about Tengwar Check out the following links. They may be friends with humans, though they don’t like to have too much contact with them. One of the easiest ways to make good looking elvish calligraphy from english words is to write it in the Sindarin language with the so called tehtar-mode. The lumbar facet joints really only allow extension and flexion (very limited lateral) therefore doing the above pelvic slide to any excessive degree is an unnatural movement for inflexible golfers. The thoracic facet joints are like shingles on a roof and allow limited lateral side flexion (but more than lumbar), extension and flexion, but very limited rotation. The cervical facet joints allow lots of rotation If you check this short 3 min video below, you can see the 3 types of facet joints in the cervical/thoracic/lumbar regions of the spine and get a good idea of how they can limit movement. If you look at the image below, the pelvic slide means that one is attempting 'right side flexion' in the lumbar joint area of the spine.īut note that the lumbar spine facet joints are not designed for side to side flexion which is why I said you need that type of flexibility to reduce any excessive stress in those joint areas. I think SnT is probably okay for people with flexible spines. So I find it interesting that some treat S&T as being some sort of golf swing voodoo.sorcery. I look nearly identical to Tiger in terms of how I look at the top of my backswing (ref article below). To that extent, I have no doubt that I likely moved off the ball too much to the right (to get "more power") which is why S&T feels like I'm tilted to the left at the top. During mirror work, it's quite astonishing to see I am simply stacked over the ball at the top, not tilted to the left, but I FEEL tilted to the left because I'm used to decades of moving off the ball to the right on the backswing. The major difference is feeling tilted towards the target at the top of my swing, and not caring if my right leg straightens because I actually get more rotation, hence power. devolving 210-220 yards with my old swing. I can use any club but my 8-9 iron are now the most used clubs for approach shots on the course because now my drives are in the 250-265 range vs. I do the drills by progressing from 1/2 swing, 50-yard shots, up to full swings using an 8 or 9 iron. My primary drill is the one provided by Rob Cheney below. upright.and my belt buckle, on good swings ends up closest to the target post-impact. The backswing plane is more like Sergio's, or somewhat flatter vs. That move helps me become stacked over the ball at the top with a straight right leg. the easy potential to slightly flatten the shoulders in the traditional backswing with a steeper plane to get the club "over the shoulder at the top". Here are a few reasons why experts think Microsoft Teams surpassed Slack in such a short time span. But what exactly caused this shift? Why Did Microsoft Teams Surpass Slack in Popularity? Clearly, things have changed, and Microsoft Teams has come quite a long way in just two years. A survey done by the same organization on a similarly sized focus group two years ago showed that only 3% of organizations used Microsoft Teams versus the 13% using Slack. Many IT industry trends have seen ups and downs over the past couple of years. Microsoft Teams Is More Popular Than Slack-So What? Let’s take a look at what this means for the future of these two apps. These numbers alone show that Teams has overtaken Slack in popularity and usage, at least in the corporate space. Specifically, the study revealed that 21% of these organizations use Microsoft Teams, whereas only 15% use Slack. Conducted by an IT network named Spiceworks in a focus group that involved over 900 different organizations, the study found that Microsoft Teams is now being used more than Slack. A recent study ↗ shows that Microsoft Teams, an application that serves a similar purpose, has been gaining immense popularity in this space over the last few years. It’s a preferred choice for various enterprise-scale organizations across the globe because it facilitates quick and easy communication between different team members of the same organization. Slack is one of the popular applications used by business professionals around the world to communicate effectively in a team environment. I tried to copy it and use it by getting rid of the canned cities, but it just didn't work right. I've tried monkeying with the Timbuktu regional map and it really has been twisted by the developers for use as a tutorial. Just use windows explorer and copy the region folder back into your C:\\Documents\SimCity 4\Regions folder.įor regions that have been downloaded, simply render the region again. In the case of any of the default regions, you can recopy them from the installation files in C:\Program files. I want to have multiple copies of this region, same exact starting terrain, but I suppose I'll need to rename them, Timbuktu, Timbuktu2, Timbuktu3, etc. I modified timbuktu, and have cities in it now, is there any way to get it back to what it was in the beginning? Is there any way to set a region back to default, what it was right after the game was installed. I'd prefer something different randomization options, like in 2K, you could say how much water, how much elevation- do you want a river or coast or not, would be simpler and easier. I'm also tinkering a little bit with landscape designer. Then, reinstall the game, and I can put the cities/region back, to what it was before the reinstall- in the region's case, renaming it. Or, could I save the region file to somewhere else- with the cities in it. So I could save my two city files somewhere else, then reinstall the game, and put them back on the tiles I want them on. I know you can import a city into a blank region tile (of the same size). How would I restore it with the original files? Not sure how? Is it possible to save individual cities as files, not just the regions the cities are in. To make clones/copies just find the folder of region you want to duplicate (under Documents\SimCity 4\Regions) and copy-paste it, then rename it. The only possibility to recover the terrain (eside reinstalling the game) is to restore the region with the original files. Well you have the option to obliterate the cities, which will remove everything built but any terraformation already done cannot be reverse engineered this way. Regardless of what type of vessel you choose, enjoying a meal with your sake can elevate your experience. Small cups like “ochoko” are OK too, but the sake will smell and taste more delicate and simple. The large bowl and headspace hold and amplify the aroma the wide mouth spreads the sake across the palate, maximizing flavor intensity and complexity. (Learn more about How to Drink Sake with the Right Sake Cup here.)Īnd if there was ever a sake to drink from a wine glass, this is it. In general, fruity and fragrant sake tastes best when chilled. Let’s discuss some service tips and pairing suggestions that match these traits. So shizuku is a fragrant, fruity, clean and sophisticated style. (These two premium grades already require lots of hands-on brewing, so it just makes sense to use them for shizuku.) These characteristics are common for shizuku because they’re nearly always daiginjo or junmai daiginjo-grade sake. Few will show any bitterness, and acidity levels are typically low. Deeply fruity and floral tasting notes are common as well. Shizuku sake is also well known for its smooth finish. It’s usually fragrant with a very soft texture. Shizuku is a refined and complex type of sake, typically with a light or medium body. But brewers are still willing to produce it because the results are stunning. With so much effort involved compared to other pressing methods, it’s easy to see why shizuku sake is rare and expensive. The longer the sake sits in a tank, the more susceptible it is to oxidation, which would ruin all the hard work. The whole process of filling the bags and collecting the sake takes about eight hours, and it has to be done as quickly and efficiently as possible. Once all the liquid is squeezed out, the rice solids, called “kasu,” must be removed and the bags washed thoroughly. This sake won’t be wasted, it will go into other bottlings but pressing bags is an extra step requiring more effort. Most of the sake remains in the bags, and collecting it requires pressing. Only the sake that drips freely is collected to make shizuku - and it’s a small amount. This “hanging bag” method is where the term fukurotsuri comes from, as well as the brewer’s slang “kubi tsuri” (hung by the neck). Cloth or synthetic bags are filled with fresh moromi, then tied with rope and hung up over a tank or large bottle. Both of these methods apply pressure to squeeze out the liquid.īut shizuku is made without a press or applying any pressure. These smaller presses require more labor but can produce excellent sake. Most of the time, this is done with an efficient automatic press called a “yabuta.” Occasionally, the brewery will use a smaller, traditional “fune” press instead. Pressing sake is required to remove the liquid from the rice solids. A tiny amount does get bottled and sold to the public, though, but it’s never cheap. But it’s inefficient to make and can only be made in small batches, so shizuku is mostly for sake competitions. This method, which is called fukurotsuri, produces outstanding sake. For more information about the craft of sake in general, head over to our Sake Guide. The term “shizuku” means “drops” because only the sake that drips freely from the bags is collected.įukurotsuri, shizuku sake and tobinkakoi all point to parts of this special pressing process. Shizuku is a premium substyle of sake made by hanging “moromi” (unpressed sake) in bags. Plus, you’ll discover some of the famous shizuku sake brands Tippsy carries. You’ll learn what it is, how it’s made, what it tastes like and more. This article breaks down this rare sake style in detail. So what’s the deal with this phantom sake, and is it worth tracking down? But it’s also expensive and hard to find. Is “shizuku” the ultimate type of sake? It’s easily one of the most elegant and stunning styles. Kanye himself has let it be known on multiple occasions that after accompanying Jay-Z on his Kingdom Come in 2006, he felt he needed to start making music that would play well in a stadium environment.
